Who can really benefit

As with all inclusion and exclusion criteria, these are not set in stone. However, in general the Pain Services see very limited improvements in those people who are passive, who expect others to take control of their pain and who have undergone repeated programmes with no benefit.

  • People with pain duration less than 5 years

  • People who can see a benefit in managing their pain using a variety of methods

  • Patients who do not search out ‘magic cures’

  • People with a positive approach
